Read the paper. Keep every mark you make.
Import a PDF, a BibTeX file, or anything you find in Safari. Highlight, underline and write on the page with Apple Pencil. Each paper keeps one note, and every mark stays on the sentence you made it on.
Ask a collection. Then check its work.
Fihris retrieves the passages itself, and the model may cite only the passages it was handed — so a page number cannot be invented. Every claim carries a chip, and the chip opens the page.
Write the paper beside the papers.
A LaTeX editor with your library one tap away. Insert a citation from the cite picker, render any CSL style, export BibTeX, or hand the project to Overleaf.
You choose where the answer runs.
Four routes. Fihris asks before anything leaves the device, every time, and names where it is going.
On this device
Nothing leaves.
Apple's private cloud
Your question and the passages. Processed, never stored.
Fihris Intelligence
Through Fihris's relay to Anthropic. The relay keeps none of it.
Your own Claude or ChatGPT key
Straight to your provider, billed to you.
Tiers one and two stay inside Apple's privacy boundary. Nothing goes to a third party without your explicit consent, asked for in the app.
Your papers stay yours.
Your papers stay on your device and in your own iCloud. There is no Fihris account and no Fihris library server: nothing to sign into, nothing to delete. The one server Fihris runs is the Fihris Intelligence relay, which forwards a question and the passages retrieved for it and keeps none of them; it never receives a PDF and can reach exactly one host. Everything else — library, reader, annotations, notes, on-device answers, LaTeX — works in airplane mode.
